The challenge for all organisations is that the way we work is evolving, and the very definition of terms like ‘workplace’ has changed. For example, with many organisations adopting flexible, hybrid or remote working models, the number of lone workers is rising.
At the same time, being ‘at work’ might mean the office, a shared work hub, a coffee shop or even the dining room table. Yet as employers, we are expected to demonstrate a duty of care and to safeguard staff at work, regardless of where or when that work takes place.
